Stylist Scale
Launching in the next few weeks

Every bowl of color has a price. Now you know it.

Stylist Scale tells salon owners and stylists what each color application costs, what it pays, and what it leaves on the table. No special scale. No Bluetooth. Type the grams, see the dollars.

$17.99 per stylist, per month, at launch. Nothing to buy, nothing to ship.

First access and the $17.99 launch price go to the list first. No spam, one email when doors open.

Stylist Scale in action

One client, start to finish. Every number.

This is the real app on a phone: open her card, type the grams, close the ticket — then her history, your stock and the week’s reports.

Why there is no Bluetooth

The scale was never the hard part. Knowing the number was.

A scale already tells you the grams. What a stylist never had, standing at the color bar with a client waiting, is what those grams cost and what they pay. We built that part and left the hardware alone.

What a connected scale adds to your day

  • A specific scale to buy for every station
  • A battery to keep charged
  • A pairing step before the first gram
  • A shipment to wait for before anyone can start

Stylist Scale asks you to

  • Use the scale you already own. Any brand, any price.
  • Type the grams you see. Two or three numbers per bowl.
  • Open a link on an iPhone, iPad or any browser. Nothing to install.
  • Start the same afternoon you sign up.
Behind the chair

Four taps between the client sitting down and knowing your margin.

What you get

One place for formulas, clients, color stock and the money.

Cost per application

Every bowl priced to the cent from your tube price, tube size and developer price. Whole-tube rounding and reformulations are handled for you.

Formula cards that update themselves

Each client keeps her formula, ratio, line and a visit note. Mix for her once and the card learns what you actually used.

Stock by the shade, in grams

See exactly how much of every shade is left on the shelf and reorder before you run out, not after.

Open tickets for the whole floor

Start a ticket, walk away, top up the bowl at the back, close it later. Everyone in the salon sees the same board, live.

Stylists see their pay, owners see the margin

A stylist account shows Mix, Clients and Color. Reports, prices and payroll stay with the owner.

Reports you can read

Product cost, pay and house profit by day, by stylist, by client and by shade. Export when your bookkeeper asks.

Getting set up

Two ways in. Both end with your salon loaded.

Nobody types 1,600 clients by hand. Your booking system already has them, and your color shelf is a photo away.

Do it yourself, about 15 minutes

Create your account, name the salon, add your color line (tube size, tube price, developer price), your shades, your stylists and their pay, your services. Then export your clients from Square, Mangomint, Vagaro, GlossGenius, Boulevard or Fresha and drop the file in. Formula cards build themselves the first time each client sits in the chair.

Included with every membership.

We set it up for you

Send us your client export and a photo of your color shelf. We load the clients, the lines and shades with starting stock, your stylists and your service menu, then walk your team through the first mix on a 20-minute call. You open the app on day one and it already looks like your salon.

$149, one time. Pick it when you join, or add it later from Setup.

What is going down the sink

Put your own numbers in.

Color poured and not used is the quietest cost in a salon. Slide to what your week looks like and what you pay for a tube. The math assumes a standard 60 g tube.

Questions stylists ask

Before you sign up

Do I need a special scale?

No. Use whatever digital gram scale is already at your color bar. Stylist Scale never connects to it. You read the grams off the display and type them in.

Is typing the grams slower than a connected scale?

A bowl is two or three numbers. Typing them takes about the same time as waiting for a pairing dot to turn green, and it works every time, on every station, with every scale.

Do my stylists have to download an app?

No. Each stylist gets a link and a sign-in. Open it in Safari or Chrome, add it to the home screen and it behaves like an app on iPhone and iPad.

Can my stylists see my prices and profit?

Only if you want them to. A stylist account shows Mix, Clients and Color stock. Service prices, pay rates, reports and the house margin are visible to the owner only.

Which color lines does it support?

Any line. You enter your tube size, tube price and developer price once per line, and you can run several lines side by side. Shade names are yours, exactly as they appear on the tube.

How do my clients get into it?

Export them from your booking software (Square, Mangomint, Vagaro, GlossGenius, Boulevard, Fresha all do this in two clicks) and drop the file into Stylist Scale. Formulas are not something those systems hold in a usable way, so each client's card is created the first time a stylist mixes for her. If you would rather not touch any of it, the done-for-you setup loads everything for $149.

Where is my data?

In a secure cloud database, synced live between every device in your salon. Nothing is stored only on one phone, so a dropped iPad does not take your client cards with it.

We built this behind the chair at our own salon in Orlando because we were tired of guessing what a highlight actually cost us. The scale we already had was fine. The spreadsheet was not. Will Wyatt, salon owner and the first user of Stylist Scale
